The most popular stands are static and folding so you can easily fold it away and take it with you. The
moses basket sits right on top of the stand so it's easy to lift the basket and move it around the house. The
stand is mostly made of wood (mostly pine) and some are painted white depending on the style you want. They
are all sturdy so your basket won't collapse on you!
Rocking Moses Basket Stands
New to the market now are rocking stands for moses baskets. This works in a similar way to static stands
but you will be able to rock the basket with the baby inside. These are generally more expensive
but a great way to rock baby to sleep. It's likely you'll need to purchase this separately as
most moses baskets will not come with a rocking stand.
As they are more bulky they will be heavier to move and you can't fold them down so storage may also be a problem. Additionally as you won't need the basket after your child is older than four months it may be a luxury not worth buying.
What to Look for When Purchasing Your Stand
Of course not all moses baskets fit every stand in the market so measure your basket first before purchasing. Stands start very cheaply at around £15 from Tescos and this may all you need and some will also hold carry cots to extend the life of the stand.
